The performance and safety of battery packs have become one of the key standards for measuring vehicle quality, and their sealing performance directly affects the service life and safety of the battery. Therefore, adopting efficient and accurate sealing test methods is crucial.

The air tightness testing method, as a widely used inspection approach in the industry today, is playing an irreplaceable role in battery pack sealing tests with its advantages of low cost, no pollution, and high adaptability to automation.
Air tightness testing methods
The air tightness testing method involves injecting compressed air at a specific pressure into the item under test and using sensors to monitor changes in gas pressure, thereby determining whether the item leaks. This method is based on the principles of gas molecular diffusion and pressure equilibrium. When the battery pack enclosure or liquid cooling plate is well sealed, the internal gas pressure remains stable; conversely, if a leak point exists, gas gradually escapes from the leak, causing the internal pressure to drop. Air tightness testing equipment automatically determines whether the sealing of the battery pack and its liquid cooling system is qualified based on the leak value.
PLUS Battery Pack Air Tightness Testing Solution
The micro-flow tester is a sealing and leak testing device developed by PLUS based on customer needs and the characteristics of battery pack products. It uses clean, pollution-free compressed air as the testing gas, integrates high- and low-pressure testing functions, and is equipped with high-sensitivity sensors and a calibration check device to ensure the accuracy of test results. It also supports rapid inflation to meet the fast-cycle testing requirements of battery production lines.
The micro-flow tester supports pressures up to 2 MPa, meeting the test pressure requirements for direct cooling plate/liquid cooling plate tubing and complete battery packs. It supports multiple applications in one unit, easily handling the air tightness testing needs of battery packs while reducing procurement costs for enterprises.
