A calibrated leak orifice generates a precise leak rate at a specific test pressure, producing a flow standard at the set test pressure with a specific flow rate within ±1% (all leak rates are calculated under standard conditions by compensating for atmospheric pressure and barometric temperature over the calibration time). It is specifically used to verify the quality and safety of leak detectors and/or entire leak detection systems.
It is commonly used to calibrate air leak testers and flow testers, or for equipment spot checks and accuracy verification. The flow rate and pressure values are derived from traceable NIST measurements under standard conditions. Each flow standard is supplied with a corresponding calibration certificate.
I. Accuracy
The American CTS standard leak orifice has an accuracy of +1.2% or +0.1 sccm, whichever result is highly accurate at the calibration point.
* Flow accuracy is based on the most uncertain factors, which represent the expanded uncertainty specified at approximately a 95% confidence level using a coverage factor of K=2.
II. Flow Range
The leak or flow range created by the American CTS standard leak orifice is within 0.5 to 50,000 sccm and is ISO 17025 accredited. Flow rates within the range of 0-0.5 sccm are also acceptable.
III. Pressure Range
Available pressure range: -14.7 to 500 psig
Since leak rate is a customized product, customers are requested to provide the relevant customization requirements:
1. Pressure value: Please provide the relative pressure requirement, e.g., -100 kPa to 2000 kPa.
2. Leak rate: from 0.1 to 50,000 sccm, or other custom specifications.
3. Ports: any port can be customized, or adapters can be provided - Staubli, NPT 1/8, 3/8 male thread, or quick couplings;
